Galleria Comunale d’Arte, Cagliari 2012

The extension of the municipal art gallery creates an appropriate entrance situation with all the facilities required for contemporary museum operations and a new special exhibition area. This is naturally lit by a zenith light ceiling that blocks direct sunlight. The two-tone color scheme of the old building is continued in the new building through the use of terracotta-colored UHPC façade elements and light-colored concrete for the open staircase.
