Extension of the Alte Dammtorwache, Hamburg 2014 (1st prize) 

In view of other police stations, symmetric and conceived according to a “normal plan”, as well as the approach taken to the existing building, based on Zimmerman’s own extension and conversion plans and also the desire to create a visible side, we have proposed an extension above ground, continuing the strategy of “further construction”, essentially incorporating the same materials and endeavoring to ensure that the layers of time are still perceptible.
